Project Overview

Construction on the much anticipated improvement to the intersection of Main Street and Crystal Lake Avenue and the Veteran's Memorial area will begin the week of April 28. This project is part of the final phase of the improvements to Historic Downtown Crystal Lake that are funded by the Downtown TIF district. These improvements will not only enhance the appearance of the main entrance to the City's central business district, but will also improve traffic flow at the intersection. The construction is scheduled to be completed in early Fall 2008.

Weekly Progress Meeting - May 13, 2008
At the 5/13/2008 weekly progress meeting, the contractor indicated they intend to continue watermain work on the east side of Main Street. They will begin to install water service connections on the east leg of Crystal Lake Avenue and continue work on the temporary traffic signals at Main Street and Crystal Lake Avenue. Daily lane closures will occur on Crystal Lake Avenue.

Due to the daily lane closures and changes in the traffic configuration, we ask that motorists use extra care and obey all traffic signage when in the construction zone. Let’s make it safe for everyone.
